The short version

Folio is a static website. There are no accounts, no advertising, and no third-party tracking scripts beyond what is described below.

What is stored in your browser

This site sets no cookies. It uses your browser's local storage for exactly one preference, which stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere:

• theme-mode — whether you chose light, dark, or to follow your operating system.

Clearing your site data removes it. Nothing else is written, and the value does not identify you.

The contact form

The contact form is currently a demonstration and sends nothing. It validates what you type so the behaviour can be shown, and then stops. No network request is made, and nothing you enter is stored, transmitted or logged anywhere.

Analytics

Analytics is not enabled on this site. No analytics cookies are set and no usage data is collected or shared.

Search

The filter boxes on the essay and archive pages run entirely in your browser against a list built when the site was published. What you type is never sent anywhere and is not recorded.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the requests needed to serve pages to you, which includes your IP address. I do not have access to those logs as an analytics source.

Fonts

Typefaces are self-hosted and served from this domain. No request is made to Google Fonts or any other third-party font service, so your IP address is not shared with one in order to render this page.
